Ingredients
- 1 large green cabbage
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
- Arrange the cabbage slices on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil and minced garlic.
- Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with the garlic oil mixture.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then carefully flip the steaks.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over each steak.
- Return to the oven and roast for another 10–15 minutes until the edges are golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for better melting and flavor.
- Adjust seasoning according to taste preferences.
- For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
- Can substitute green cabbage with savoy cabbage.
