Description
Crispy egg rolls stuffed with spicy chicken, cheese, and vegetables, inspired by Cajun and Creole flavors. These Voodoo Egg Rolls are bold, crunchy, and perfect as an appetizer or game-day snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, finely diced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Oil for frying
- Optional dipping sauces: ranch, spicy aioli, or remoulade
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together shredded chicken, pepper jack cheese, cream cheese, bell peppers, green onions, Cajun seasoning, and hot sauce until well combined.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner facing you. Place about 3 tbsp of filling in the center.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Brush the top corner with beaten egg to seal.
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can bake the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes as a lighter option.
- Air fryer option: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning and hot sauce to control spice level.
