Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter by whisking melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  4. Spread brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  6. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  7. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough evenly over the brownie layer.
  10. Gently spread cookie dough to cover most of the surface.
  11. Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly gooey.
  12. Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
