Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare the brownie batter by whisking melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
- Spread brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, cream softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough evenly over the brownie layer.
- Gently spread cookie dough to cover most of the surface.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly gooey.
- Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
