Description

Sweet spicy sticky chicken is a bold, finger-licking dish featuring tender chicken coated in a glossy, sweet-heat sauce that caramelizes beautifully for an irresistible finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (halal)
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Whisk honey, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, vinegar, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour sauce into the skillet and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.

  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
  10. Serve hot.
