Description
Strawberry cheesecake turnovers are flaky puff pastry pockets filled with creamy cheesecake and sweet strawberry filling, baked until golden and perfect for dessert or brunch.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberry pie filling or chopped fresh strawberries
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spoon cheesecake mixture into the center of each pastry square.
- Top with strawberry filling.
- Fold pastry over diagonally to form triangles and press edges to seal.
- Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Allow turnovers to cool slightly.
- Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze and drizzle over turnovers.
Notes
- Seal edges well to prevent filling from leaking.
- Can be made with other fruit fillings.
- Best served warm or at room temperature.
