Description
Smashburger quesadillas are a fun mini kitchen magic meal combining crispy smashed beef patties, melty cheese, and tortillas grilled until golden and irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheddar or American cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter or oil (for cooking)
- 1/4 cup diced pickles (optional)
- 1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
- Burger sauce or mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll loosely into balls.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over high heat.
- Place beef balls onto the hot surface, smash flat, and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until a crispy crust forms, then flip and cook another 1–2 minutes.
- Remove patties and set aside.
- Wipe skillet lightly and reduce heat to medium.
- Place a tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle cheese on one half.
- Add a smashed burger patty, pickles, onions, and sauce if using.
- Top with more cheese and fold tortilla over.
- Cook until golden and crispy, flipping once.
- Repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Slice into wedges and serve hot.
Notes
- Use high heat for the crispiest smashburger crust.
- American cheese gives the best melt.
- Serve with fries or dipping sauce.
