Description

Smashburger quesadillas are a fun mini kitchen magic meal combining crispy smashed beef patties, melty cheese, and tortillas grilled until golden and irresistible.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil (for cooking)
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles (optional)
  • 1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
  • Burger sauce or mayonnaise (optional)


Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll loosely into balls.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over high heat.
  3. Place beef balls onto the hot surface, smash flat, and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Cook for 2–3 minutes until a crispy crust forms, then flip and cook another 1–2 minutes.
  5. Remove patties and set aside.
  6. Wipe skillet lightly and reduce heat to medium.
  7. Place a tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle cheese on one half.
  8. Add a smashed burger patty, pickles, onions, and sauce if using.
  9. Top with more cheese and fold tortilla over.
  10. Cook until golden and crispy, flipping once.
  11. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  12. Slice into wedges and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use high heat for the crispiest smashburger crust.
  • American cheese gives the best melt.
  • Serve with fries or dipping sauce.
