Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in garam masala, paprika, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
  6. Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.
  7. Simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  8. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and sugar.
  9. Simmer for 5 more minutes until sauce is creamy.
  10. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm.
