Description
Crispy parmesan-crusted chicken breasts served with a creamy garlic sauce for a flavorful and comforting dinner dish.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
- 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in the third.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular.
- Pair with pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- If sauce is too thick, add a splash of broth to thin it.
- This recipe can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes instead of pan-frying.
