Description
Crispy oven-fried chicken coated in a ranch-seasoned breading, delivering all the flavor of fried chicken without the deep-frying. A family-friendly and easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk and half of the ranch seasoning mix. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight).
- In a shallow dish, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and remaining ranch seasoning.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumb mixture.
- Place chicken on prepared baking sheet and drizzle lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes (depending on thickness) until golden brown and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, bake on a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for buttermilk for a tangy marinade.
- Serve with ranch dressing for dipping.
