Description

A festive Nutella Christmas wreath pastry made with flaky puff pastry twisted into a beautiful wreath shape and filled with rich chocolate-hazelnut spread.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and spread Nutella evenly over the surface.
  3. Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and gently press to seal.
  4. Using a round bowl as a guide, lightly mark a circle in the center.
  5. Cut the pastry into 16 equal strips from the outer edge toward the center, leaving the center intact.
  6. Twist each strip twice in the same direction.
  7. Shape the pastry into a wreath and brush with beaten egg.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts if using.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffed.
  10. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overfill with Nutella to prevent leaking.
  • Best served warm for a gooey center.
