Description
A festive Nutella Christmas wreath pastry made with flaky puff pastry twisted into a beautiful wreath shape and filled with rich chocolate-hazelnut spread.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and spread Nutella evenly over the surface.
- Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and gently press to seal.
- Using a round bowl as a guide, lightly mark a circle in the center.
- Cut the pastry into 16 equal strips from the outer edge toward the center, leaving the center intact.
- Twist each strip twice in the same direction.
- Shape the pastry into a wreath and brush with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts if using.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Do not overfill with Nutella to prevent leaking.
- Best served warm for a gooey center.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
