Description
Simple and delicious no-bake chocolate oat bars with a buttery oat base and a smooth chocolate-peanut butter layer.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar until smooth and combined.
- Stir in oats, salt, and vanilla. Cook 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together until smooth.
- Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the oat layer.
- Top with the remaining oat mixture and press lightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
- Lift from pan, slice into bars, and serve.
Notes
- For firmer bars, add an extra 1/2 cup oats.
- Use dairy-free butter and chocolate to make it vegan.
- Add nuts or shredded coconut for extra texture.
- Store refrigerated up to 1 week.
