Ingredients

  • 12 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (halal)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 green onions, sliced


Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch.
  6. Pour sauce into skillet and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Add cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes if using.
  9. Stir in green onions and serve hot.
