Description
A soft, moist banana bread loaded with chocolate chips for a sweet and comforting treat, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash bananas. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Overripe bananas work best for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- Can substitute part of the flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier version.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
