Description

A moist and tender banana bread loaded with chocolate chips for a sweet, comforting treat that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash ripe bananas. Stir in melted butter and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (a few melted chocolate streaks are fine).
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
