Description
This quick and easy Korean ground beef bowl is a flavorful weeknight dinner made with savory-sweet seasoned beef served over rice, topped with fresh garnishes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in garlic, ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, allowing flavors to blend.
- Remove from heat and stir in green onions.
- Serve beef mixture over bowls of warm cooked rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onions if desired.
