Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Stir in garlic, ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, allowing flavors to blend.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in green onions.
  4. Serve beef mixture over bowls of warm cooked rice.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onions if desired.
