Description
An Italian-inspired stromboli stuffed with mozzarella, pepperoni, and ham, wrapped in golden pizza dough and baked to perfection for a cheesy, savory delight.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup sliced deli ham
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12×14 inches.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Layer mozzarella, pepperoni, and ham evenly on top. Sprinkle Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Carefully roll the dough lengthwise into a log, pinching the seams and ends to seal.
- Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and cut 4–5 small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush with melted butter after baking and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Substitute fillings with salami, cooked sausage, or vegetables for variations.
- For extra crispiness, sprinkle cornmeal on the baking sheet before placing the stromboli.
- This stromboli can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
- Serve as a main dish or cut into smaller slices for a party appetizer.
