Description

An Italian-inspired stromboli stuffed with mozzarella, pepperoni, and ham, wrapped in golden pizza dough and baked to perfection for a cheesy, savory delight.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup sliced deli ham
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12×14 inches.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Layer mozzarella, pepperoni, and ham evenly on top. Sprinkle Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  5. Carefully roll the dough lengthwise into a log, pinching the seams and ends to seal.
  6. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and cut 4–5 small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Brush with melted butter after baking and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Substitute fillings with salami, cooked sausage, or vegetables for variations.
  • For extra crispiness, sprinkle cornmeal on the baking sheet before placing the stromboli.
  • This stromboli can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Serve as a main dish or cut into smaller slices for a party appetizer.
