Description

Honey garlic shrimp with broccoli is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp and crisp broccoli coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water; set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque; remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining olive oil to the skillet and sauté broccoli for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes if using, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp as they become rubbery.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or quinoa.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce saltiness.
