Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring tender beef, noodles, and crisp vegetables tossed in a flavorful hoisin sauce. A perfect balance of sweet, savory, and umami flavors for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz rice noodles or egg noodles
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, toss sliced beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add bell pepper, broccoli, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Return beef to skillet along with cooked noodles. Pour in sauce and toss everything until well coated and heated through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Use wide rice noodles for a chewier texture, or lo mein noodles for a classic stir-fry feel.
- For extra flavor, marinate beef longer (up to 30 minutes).
- Can substitute chicken or tofu for beef.
