Description

A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring tender beef, noodles, and crisp vegetables tossed in a flavorful hoisin sauce. A perfect balance of sweet, savory, and umami flavors for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz rice noodles or egg noodles
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add bell pepper, broccoli, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Return beef to skillet along with cooked noodles. Pour in sauce and toss everything until well coated and heated through.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Use wide rice noodles for a chewier texture, or lo mein noodles for a classic stir-fry feel.
  • For extra flavor, marinate beef longer (up to 30 minutes).
  • Can substitute chicken or tofu for beef.
