Description
Green Jalapeño Hot Sauce is a vibrant, tangy, and moderately spicy condiment made with fresh jalapeños, garlic, vinegar, and lime juice. It’s perfect for tacos, eggs, grilled meats, and adding bold flavor to any dish.
Ingredients
- 10 fresh jalapeño peppers, stems removed
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse jalapeños and roughly chop them.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chopped jalapeños, water, vinegar, salt, and sugar if using.
- Simmer for 8–10 minutes until peppers soften.
- Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool slightly.
- Transfer mixture to a blender, add lime juice, and blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust salt or lime as needed.
- Pour into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using for best flavor.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave the seeds in the jalapeños.
- For a milder sauce, remove seeds before cooking.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Add fresh cilantro for a herbal variation.
