Description

Green Jalapeño Hot Sauce is a vibrant, tangy, and moderately spicy condiment made with fresh jalapeños, garlic, vinegar, and lime juice. It’s perfect for tacos, eggs, grilled meats, and adding bold flavor to any dish.

Ingredients

  • 10 fresh jalapeño peppers, stems removed
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse jalapeños and roughly chop them.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add chopped jalapeños, water, vinegar, salt, and sugar if using.
  4. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until peppers soften.
  5. Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool slightly.
  6. Transfer mixture to a blender, add lime juice, and blend until smooth.
  7. Taste and adjust salt or lime as needed.
  8. Pour into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using for best flavor.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave the seeds in the jalapeños.
  • For a milder sauce, remove seeds before cooking.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Add fresh cilantro for a herbal variation.
