Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 4 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or jasmine)


Instructions

  1. Season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant and softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Lower heat and add heavy cream, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 5 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  7. Serve chicken smothered with sauce over a bed of warm rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.
