Description

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Steak is a luxurious surf-and-turf dish featuring tender, juicy steak topped with succulent Cajun-seasoned shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce. Packed with bold spices and buttery flavor, this restaurant-quality meal is perfect for date night or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Pat steaks dry with paper towels and season generously with 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter. Once melted, add shrimp and season with remaining Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
  6. Whisk in Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Let it thicken slightly for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
  8. Place steaks on plates, spoon creamy Cajun shrimp and sauce over the top.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges or a side of mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce texture.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook quickly and become rubbery if overdone.
  • Pair with garlic bread or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
