Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)
- 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels and season generously with 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add butter. Once melted, add shrimp and season with remaining Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
- Whisk in Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Let it thicken slightly for 2–3 minutes.
- Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Place steaks on plates, spoon creamy Cajun shrimp and sauce over the top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges or a side of mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce texture.
- Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook quickly and become rubbery if overdone.
- Pair with garlic bread or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
