Description
Chicken Florentine with creamy sauce is a classic dish featuring tender pan-seared chicken breasts smothered in a rich garlic cream sauce with spinach.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups fresh spinach
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through; remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits.
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and nutmeg; simmer until slightly thickened.
- Add spinach and cook until wilted.
- Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
- Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
- Pound chicken evenly for consistent cooking.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
- Half-and-half can be used for a lighter sauce.
