Description
Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic dish featuring tender chicken breasts stuffed with ham and melted cheese, breaded and baked or pan-fried until golden and delicious.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices ham (halal)
- 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Pound chicken breasts to even thickness.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place a slice of ham and cheese on each chicken breast.
- Roll chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Dredge each roll in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil or butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Sear chicken rolls until golden on all sides.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
- Remove toothpicks before serving.
Notes
- Use halal-certified deli meat.
- Can be baked fully instead of pan-seared.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.
