Description

Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic dish featuring tender chicken breasts stuffed with ham and melted cheese, breaded and baked or pan-fried until golden and delicious.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham (halal)
  • 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness.
  3. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place a slice of ham and cheese on each chicken breast.
  5. Roll chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  6. Dredge each roll in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat olive oil or butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  8. Sear chicken rolls until golden on all sides.
  9. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
  10. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

  • Use halal-certified deli meat.
  • Can be baked fully instead of pan-seared.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.
