Description

Cheesy hamburger rice casserole is a hearty, comforting baked dish made with seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and a creamy, cheesy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley; cook for 1 minute.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle uncooked rice evenly over the beef.
  7. Pour beef broth and milk evenly over the mixture.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese evenly on top, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Covering tightly is essential so the rice cooks properly.
  • Ground turkey can be substituted for beef.
  • Add frozen peas or corn for extra vegetables.
