Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and onion, cooking until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley; cook for 1 minute.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle uncooked rice evenly over the beef.
- Pour beef broth and milk evenly over the mixture.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheese evenly on top, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Covering tightly is essential so the rice cooks properly.
- Ground turkey can be substituted for beef.
- Add frozen peas or corn for extra vegetables.
