Description
Soft, fluffy buns filled with spicy dynamite chicken and gooey melted cheese, baked until golden brown. A delicious snack or appetizer with a kick of flavor.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into small cubes
- 2 tbsp hot sauce or sriracha
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, egg, butter, and olive oil. Mix and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, hot sauce, and mayonnaise. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until chicken is fully cooked. Let cool slightly.
- Punch down dough and divide into 10–12 equal pieces. Flatten each piece and fill with chicken mixture and mozzarella cheese. Seal well and shape into balls.
- Place buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, spicy filling!
Notes
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less hot sauce.
- You can prepare the buns ahead and freeze them before baking.
- Swap mozzarella with cheddar or gouda for different flavors.
