Description

Cheeseburger French Fry Bake is a hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger — seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and crispy French fries — baked together in one irresistible dish. It’s an easy comfort food perfect for busy weeknights or potluck dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (16 oz) bag frozen French fries
  • Chopped pickles or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes to combine flavors.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Arrange frozen French fries in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Return to oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped pickles or green onions before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Use tater tots instead of French fries for a fun variation.
  • Add crumbled cooked bacon or jalapeños for an extra flavor kick.
  • Serve with ketchup, ranch, or burger sauce for dipping.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer to keep fries crispy.
