Description
Cheeseburger French Fry Bake is a hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger — seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and crispy French fries — baked together in one irresistible dish. It’s an easy comfort food perfect for busy weeknights or potluck dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (16 oz) bag frozen French fries
- Chopped pickles or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes to combine flavors.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
- Arrange frozen French fries in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Return to oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped pickles or green onions before serving, if desired.
Notes
- Use tater tots instead of French fries for a fun variation.
- Add crumbled cooked bacon or jalapeños for an extra flavor kick.
- Serve with ketchup, ranch, or burger sauce for dipping.
- Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer to keep fries crispy.
