Description
Beef Cheese Tortilla Rolls are savory, cheesy wraps filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and a touch of spice, all rolled in soft tortillas and pan-seared or baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for snacks, appetizers, or a quick dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce or salsa
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 6 medium flour tortillas
- 1 tbsp butter or oil (for toasting)
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant and soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes. Stir in tomato sauce or salsa and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Lay a tortilla flat, sprinkle cheese evenly, then spoon beef mixture on top.
- Roll the tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you roll to seal the filling.
- Heat butter or oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the rolls seam-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Alternatively, bake rolls on a parchment-lined baking tray at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes until crispy.
- Slice in halves or serve whole, garnished with chopped parsley or cilantro.
- Serve warm with dipping sauces like sour cream, salsa, or ranch.
Notes
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Use a mix of cheeses (cheddar and mozzarella) for a perfect melty texture.
- For a healthier version, use whole wheat tortillas and lean beef.
- These rolls can be made ahead and reheated in an air fryer or oven.
