Description

Beef Cheese Tortilla Rolls are savory, cheesy wraps filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and a touch of spice, all rolled in soft tortillas and pan-seared or baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for snacks, appetizers, or a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce or salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 6 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for toasting)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant and soft.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes. Stir in tomato sauce or salsa and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Lay a tortilla flat, sprinkle cheese evenly, then spoon beef mixture on top.
  6. Roll the tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you roll to seal the filling.
  7. Heat butter or oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the rolls seam-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  8. Alternatively, bake rolls on a parchment-lined baking tray at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes until crispy.
  9. Slice in halves or serve whole, garnished with chopped parsley or cilantro.
  10. Serve warm with dipping sauces like sour cream, salsa, or ranch.

Notes

  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Use a mix of cheeses (cheddar and mozzarella) for a perfect melty texture.
  • For a healthier version, use whole wheat tortillas and lean beef.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and reheated in an air fryer or oven.
