Description
Elegant baked pears filled with creamy goat cheese, drizzled with honey, and topped with tart cranberries for a sweet and savory dessert or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 4 oz goat cheese
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Place pear halves cut-side up in the baking dish.
- Brush pears lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
- Sprinkle pears with cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until pears are tender.
- Remove from oven and fill each pear cavity with goat cheese.
- Top with dried cranberries and drizzle with honey.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese is slightly softened.
- Garnish with nuts if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Use Bosc or Anjou pears for best baking results.
- Can be served as a dessert or a holiday appetizer.
- Best enjoyed warm but also delicious at room temperature.
