Description

Elegant baked pears filled with creamy goat cheese, drizzled with honey, and topped with tart cranberries for a sweet and savory dessert or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Place pear halves cut-side up in the baking dish.
  3. Brush pears lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle pears with cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until pears are tender.
  6. Remove from oven and fill each pear cavity with goat cheese.
  7. Top with dried cranberries and drizzle with honey.
  8. Return to oven and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese is slightly softened.
  9. Garnish with nuts if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use Bosc or Anjou pears for best baking results.
  • Can be served as a dessert or a holiday appetizer.
  • Best enjoyed warm but also delicious at room temperature.
