Ingredients
- 1 chocolate cake or batch of brownies, baked and cooled
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1/2 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream (divided)
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping or 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package directions using 2 cups of milk and 1/4 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream. Whisk until thickened and smooth. Chill until set.
- Cut the cooled cake or brownies into small cubes.
- In a large trifle bowl or individual dessert cups, begin layering: start with a layer of cake cubes, drizzle lightly with remaining Bailey’s (optional), then add a layer of pudding, followed by whipped topping.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped topping on top.
- Sprinkle with chocolate shavings, drizzle caramel sauce, and add chopped nuts if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
