Ingredients

  • 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  2. Spread apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over apples.
  4. Evenly sprinkle dry cake mix over the top of the apples. Do not stir.
  5. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Sprinkle with nuts if using.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract or apple pie spice to the filling.
