Description
A quick and easy dessert made with apple pie filling, cake mix, and butter. This Apple Pie Dump Cake is warm, sweet, and perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over apples.
- Evenly sprinkle dry cake mix over the top of the apples. Do not stir.
- Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Sprinkle with nuts if using.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract or apple pie spice to the filling.
- Substitute spice cake mix for yellow cake mix for a stronger fall flavor.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
